Happy Birthday Bean!

It’s the Bean Museum’s 30th Birthday!

On March 24, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary. And museums sure know how to party! The staff here at the Bean has made sure that this is one birthday you will remember. In honor of the anniversary, events have been planned all month to help celebrate. The bulk of the events will occur during the week of the birthday (March 24–29). Here’s a schedule:

March 24th (Monday)

-Family Night: Bring your family or your friends and explore the museum’s specimens and history in a treasure hunt! Prizes will be awarded to those who complete it. Also, patrons can enjoy the museum’s two live animal shows and take home a balloon animal!

March 25th (Tuesday)

-If you were born in 1978, you can join us for a birthday lunch! (To be included on the guest list, contact Patty Jones, patty_jones@byu.edu)

March 26th (Wednesday)

-Shasta pictures (6–8 p.m.): Have you seen the museum’s liger, Shasta? For one night only, come get your picture taken with her!

-Coloring contest entries due TODAY (to download the coloring page, see here).

March 27th (Thursday)

-Tanner Lecture at 7:00 p.m. “Evolution of Darwin’s Inspirations: Giant Galapagos Tortoises” by Jeffrey R. Powell and Adalgisa Caccone from Yale University
